WhatsApp is no doubt the best App we can ever get.
But there are few more alternative if you would like to try.
1. ChatON
Available on multiple platforms like Android, Bada, Windows, Blackberry, Apple iOS.
The working is almost similar to WhatsApp. Though it has completely different set of smileys. Works smoothly and especially works on Bada OS, many Bada users are frustated as they are being deprived from the use of WhatsApp.
2. Viber
Viber lets everyone in the world connect. Freely!
Millions of Viber users call, text, and send photos to each other, worldwide- for free! Viber calls are in HD quality and often offer better sound quality than regular carrier networks. Along with texting and sending photos, Viber lets you call freely to those people who are using Viber. Now, thats really an advantage over WhatsApp. Also another advantage is Viber is supported by Bada.
3. Ebuddy XMS.

Ebuddy is free and supported by almost every platform. Sadly it doesn't support Symbian Series 60v3. Though S60v5 is supported. So what are you waiting for. Go ahead and download ebuddy here
4. JaxtrSMS
JaxtrSMS is a cross-platform, open texting application. This mobile application will let users send unlimited free text messages to any other phone anywhere in the world. Also, JaxtrSMS retains the number of the user and no new number is required while signing up for the JaxtrSMS service. The app uses WiFi or 3G/2G data services to send the message and reportedly behaves like regular SMS.
5. Nimbuzz
